Projects

  1. 2025

    Personal Development

While my professional projects from 2024 are ongoing, in 2025 I'm also working on a few passion projects.

    I'm spending my time on:

    • Building my own PC (this is now finished, I love it)
    • Improving my C++
    • Learning to use Unreal Engine

    Capital Modelling Tech Lead

I have stepped in as the technical lead of a project that is delivering a complex, internal model capital solution for a large UK Life Insurance and Pensions provider.

  2. 2024

    SII Calculation and Reporting tool

I am currently working on the design and implementation of a Solvency II calculation engine and report generator for a large Irish Life insurer, built entirely on Python. The solution will integrate with existing actuarial MG-ALFA models and produce a number of custom Management Reports as well as data for downstream processing.

    Assumptions Management System

I am working on the implementation of an assumptions management (ETL) system for a large UK Life Insurance and Pensions provider, built on Python and integrating to a web UI built on Angular + Azure Functions. I joined this workstream as an independent contributor and have since stepped into the lead developer role. The system is now live and has received excellent end-user feedback.

  3. 2023

    Catastrophe Modelling

I worked with a large UK General Insurance client and an international team to implement a catastrophe modelling system, taking in RMS and Air data and using Tyche, Python, SQL and a JavaScript UI to provide the client with a greenfield system for loss and liability modelling.

  4. 2022

Unit Linked Products Data Validation and Analysis of Change

I worked with a large Multinational Reinsurer to migrate the data validation and preprocessing for their Unit Linked business from Access (SQL + VBA) databases to a 100x faster Python program. This project also involved training their team members to own and maintain the system in the future.

    Actuarial reporting POC

I build a proof of concept Python TKinter app where users can take in actuarial modelling data and generate a number of customer reports, including the generation of pdfs, Excel spreadsheets and automated emailing of the reports.

    Foundry Angel Investor Interviews

Working with The Purdue Foundry ventures team, I conducted primary research interviewing potential members of a Purdue Angel Investor group. The project focused on determining interest in the potential reestablishment of such an angel group and on understanding the investment habits and hurdles faced by interviewees. I interviewed 16 potential US and international investors from the Foundry's extended network over a month and compiled a qualitative report of their reported experience.

    Adipo Investor Research

As part of my involvement with the Purdue Foundry, I am researching target investor groups and possible corporate partners for biotechnology startup Adipo Therapeutics Llc.

    West Paw Inc Inventory Analysis

As part of an independent study project under the supervision of Professor Gemma Berenguer Falguera, I am conducting an analysis of the current inventory policy of Sustainable Pet Products manufacturer West Paw Inc.
